As a proud feminist and political activist, I was immediately drawn to WAKE’s commitment to amplifying the work and leadership of women tackling the most critical social justice issues and advocating for their communities. It is truly a gift to be able to know that the work you do has a positive impact in the world, and as the WAKE team member focused on communications, development, and Advisor relationships, I have the privilege of reflecting on that work daily and sharing it to our growing community of Tech2Empower supporters, partners, and collaborators.

Prior to joining the team at WAKE, I embarked on the challenge of a mid-career change from home interior sales to social impact work, after leaving my longtime job with designer Rachel Ashwell in order to join Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. Following that election I continued my work in political advocacy through fundraising for individual Democratic candidates, as well as for groups like the DCCC, DSCC, NARAL, and Emerge America, among others. During the 2018 midterm election I helped run the Team Pelosi Red to Blue campaign office in San Francisco which focused on flipping Congressional seats nationwide, as well as traveled across the region to canvass voters in support of reproductive justice.

Originally from the Midwest, I graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in English Literature and Communications. After spending a decade in New York, I am happy to have made a home in San Francisco, along with my husband and our adorable Cavalier King Charles puppy, Phoenix. I am incredibly passionate about the rights and representation of women, social movement building, the importance of lifelong learning and international travel. My goal is to eventually visit every continent, so here’s hoping for a future Tech2Empower Antarctica!
