WAKE’s mission is to harness the power of technology, volunteerism and collaboration to help move the needle for equality, equity and social justice.

What We Do

We engage allies across sectors to share their talent, access and resources to advance social justice;

We connect social justice leaders and activists with demand-driven project consulting, tools and training to amplify and scale their work;

We deliver leadership, mentoring and technology programs for young women and girls through schools, clubs and organizations;

We bring together allies and leverage partnerships to accelerate an agenda for equality, equity and social justice in the United States and around the world.

Why We Do It

Activists, community organizers and nonprofit leaders are on the frontlines in the fight for social justice. Their efforts address the most critical issues impacting communities around the world including:

  • reproductive rights and justice;

  • institutional racism and racial justice;

  • criminal justice and police brutality;

  • homelessness, housing and food insecurity;

  • gender-based violence;

  • immigrant rights; and

  • LGBTQ+ issues and advocacy.

These brave leaders are fighting for legal rights and safety from state-sponsored violence and police brutality, equity in access to education, healthcare, political participation, and economic opportunity for all. WAKE’s programs bolster these leaders, organizations and movements to become more effective, resilient and sustainable and to fight for social justice in their communities.
