After 12 years with Tulane University, School of Public Health as Senior Administrative Program Coordinator in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences, joining WAKE as Director of Operations feels like a homecoming. I know that educating women uplifts entire communities, as some of my earliest memories are of my Guatemalan born mother juggling parenting, work, and studies from the factory assembly line to Licensed Social Worker.

My professional journey began as a bilingual Community Liaison with Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey in 2005. I moved to New Orleans in 2007 filling a similar role with Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast developing, and delivering culturally competent, reproductive health education in largely undocumented, Spanish speaking communities.

An Adjunct Lecturer with Phyllis M. Taylor Center for Social Innovation & Design Thinking at Tulane University I led a change making, undergraduate career development lab. I am also an alumni of Tulane University Leadership Institute’s first Anti Racism Leadership Program. The Advisory Board President for Lift Louisiana, the only reproductive rights policy organization educating, advocating, and litigating for statewide reproductive rights, I have served their board since their 2016 inception. A first generation college graduate, I earned a BA in Public Relations with a double minor in Marketing & Small Business Development, and an MPS in Health & Wellness Management, with a concentration in Corporate Wellness & Health Leadership both from Tulane University.

In my spare time I enjoy good food in great company, long walks with dogs, live comedy, music, and all things New Orleans.
