As an emerging public health and social impact professional, I am thrilled to be a part of the WAKE team serving as the organization’s Program Coordinator. I am inspired by WAKE’s mission of harnessing the power at the intersection of technology and social justice to create positive social change and foster womxn’s empowerment both domestically and abroad.

Womxn-centric social justice work has been a core driver in my pursuit of an education and career in public health. I received my Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in International Development from Tulane University, and continued on as a graduate student, receiving my Master of Public Health in Community Health Sciences in the Fall of 2021. My passion for womxn’s holistic wellbeing has been amplified by many of my personal and professional experiences, including working alongside midwives at a natural birthing clinic in Guatemala aiming to end obstetric violence, expand access to family planning, and facilitate women’s bodily autonomy. I have additional experience working internationally with  underserved communities in Nicaragua, Peru, and Argentina, as well as with the indigenous people of Navajo Nation on various health-promoting campaigns and programs. These experiences have taught me invaluable things, and I have become deeply invested in working to promote justice and equity for womxn and other gender and sexual minorities as my life’s mission.

When not working on things WAKE-related, you can find me doing yoga in the park, hosting potlucks with friends, seeing live music, or escaping the Crescent City to seek some elevated hiking opportunities.
